Have you ever given CoC to a JW to read? Or any other "red pill" book?

i recently ordered a copy of coc for my wife.

she doesn't know it exists, but i'm hoping she's ready to read it.

it seems to be the best red pill out there.

I agree, one needs to be "ripe" before approaching the book. Personally I think she just might be. She barely had a cult personality to begin wih, and is by no means studious or a "true believer." For a good while she would comment that I'm not "like that" when a speaker would spout BS about apostates from the platform. If the book were sarcastic or angry at all she would repulse at it.

I'll give it to her when it shows up and see how it goes. She has a few days off this week, hope she takes a look. Will report back on how it goes.

would you convert to islam if they were holding your head on a ax block, ready to swing the ax or sword to cut your head off?

we know there are people who died for their political and spiritual values, would you convert to islam to avoid death?

for atheists, can you justify conversion to preserve life since there is no life after death?

the end did come???

i believe after russel died that rutherford about russell's perdiction of armageddon in 1914-15 said that the end did come and now millions now living will not die.

has anyone read how rutherford explained or his reasoning for the end did come?.

That didnt officially happen until 1943. Even in 1935 during Rutherford's famous speech about adopting the name "jehovahs witnesses" he spoke about gods kingdom having been established for so many years already.

i've been having a bit of an email exchange with elder dad and i need some advice.

i thought i was getting through to him but i think my criticism and tone became a bit too strident in my last email and now he thinks that i am attacking him personally.

i think he has dismissed everything i said because he perceived me as 'overally critical, and rude.. .

No, he was clutching at semantic straws. Your pointing it out showed your upper hand.

All you can hope for is that you planted a seed. It is just a trivial thing for sure, but every JW is quite invested I the JWs being right about EVERYTHING. To be wrong without the FDS saying so would show a lack of holy guidance.

You may have pissed him off, and you definitely attacked his cult personality which is a huge no-no. Don't expect to get anywhere with this approach. If you were about to speak like this without him screaming and runnign away, you may be able to plant more seeds without activating his cult persona.

i know this has been dished over before, but when i was doing some research i discovered a couple of interesting points.

as far as i can find, there is only one wt article that implies that jw men should not have beards.

Come to think of it, I haven't shaved in weeks. I prefer to keep a good 2 weeks of growth on at least. I only shave when I pretend to go to the meeting!

Woooah.... Cool it bud. You may have overdone it. Look from his POV. Someone whom he taught to "love Jehovah" is now talking crazy shit. You want to keep the lines of communication open, hoping he will see the truth. After no time at all, he sends you emails that are thousands of words long, basically repeating themselves. Whether you agree or not, clearly his brain is infected with demonic apostate teachings and he must be cut off.

I know it's harsh to say, but that may well have been what's happened here. An active JW ONLY wants to keep the lines of communication open just enough to help and "encourage" the person. If that person tries to infect you with their apostate diseased demonic teachings, you must protect yourself and cut him off. It's the only way the WT can retain such control over its members.

Jesus 1000 years and Satan's 1000 years in the abyss

the thread about satan in the abyss for 1000 years prompts a question.. jesus will rule for 1000 years.. jesus began ruling in 1914, which means his 1000 year reign will end in 2914.. satan will be abyssed for 1000 years.. if the end comes in 2020, satan will be abyssed in 2020, and then released in 3020.. what happens between 2914 and 3020?.

Thanks for your input. From your experiences I'm not 100% sure she's ready. She's just sort of clinging on for family and friends. She's afraid of what leaving will do to our lives. She still believes, but knows there's a real reason why I left.

She knows she needs to be doing research, but fear is holding her back from starting. She needs to inform herself and make a decision quickly, I can thang on much longer pretending to be a JW and living a lie.

What else would be good to help open her eyes? Yes I've read Hassan's books and use his methods but seem to be stuck. We've watched The Unbelievers documentary (her idea) and most of Cosmos but still isn't convinced. Been convinced by the WT to distrust science. I think the next time the subject comes up I may direct her towards JWfacts. I've avoided this in the past, waiting for her to start looking on her own.. Which isn't happening so far.

Have any of you done that before? What was the reaction/result? It seems to be the best red pill out there.

Let's talk red pills. For me it was researching info on 607. Pretty soon I was reading JW facts, and that was it. Go right for the jugular.
